On-Campus Classses and Important Visa Information

Dear Prospective Student:

We are offering on-campus in-person classes according to the SEVP/ICE regulations for international students.

President Trump has issued a Proclamation suspending the issuance of certain visas for those who are currently outside of the United States — including those seeking H1B visas.

This should not affect your current or planned study at MIU, or your F visa status.

Trump’s order does not affect the issuance of F student visas abroad.  It does not affect the status of students in the US currently on F visas or in Practical Training status (CPT, OPT or STEM).  It does not affect those seeking to obtain Practical Training status or seeking H1B status from within the United States.

And it does not affect the entry of individuals who already have F visas and are currently abroad.  (Note that new F visas will only be issued when the Consular offices open up in your country; for those opening dates, please check with the Consular office in your region.)

We will be fully open this Fall for our August 4th and October 29th entries, and are engaged in careful planning to insure a safe and healthy campus.  (Note that we have had NO cases of the Coronavirus for any of our campus residents — even though we have remained open and in full operation for this entire year.)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Admissions Counselor or academic program department head.

With best wishes,
