The Computer Science Department at Maharishi International University invites applications for a variety of faculty positions

Maharishi International University (formerly Maharishi University of Management), located in Fairfield, IA, is a private, non-profit, fully accredited institution offering Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees in a full range of disciplines. The department offers a unique and growing graduate program which specializes in applied software development.

Applications for all levels of academic participation are welcome, from Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors. In addition to full-time appointments, part-time faculty are also invited to apply for teaching in our distance education (DE) program.

Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

Qualifications include PhD in Computer Science (or closely related area), or MSCS and three years of professional software development experience. Applicants should have significant experience with Java or JavaScript and associated frameworks. We are particularly seeking candidates with the ability to teach courses in Web Application Programming, Javascript, Object-Oriented Software Engineering, and Enterprise Software Architecture.

Part-time or Visiting Graduate Faculty

The Computer Science Professionals Master’s program is also seeking part-time faculty and visiting faculty, to teach courses on our campus, or to teach online classes. We teach all courses at MIU on the block-system where each course is taught in a one-month format. This makes it easier for professionals or faculty with other commitments to visit MIU and teach a single course in their area of expertise. We are looking for candidates to teach a variety of graduate-level classes including web application programming, algorithms, networking, advanced programming languages, big data, machine learning, computer graphics, and parallel programming.

Part-time Instructors are responsible for teaching courses in our Distance Education program. These courses are based on recorded courses from on-campus and all associated course materials and are fully developed and organized in an online environment. Duties include all aspects of online course delivery, including leading threaded discussions and addressing student questions using an online Learning Management System, and grading papers. Our courses are all well-defined with an existing syllabus and supporting materials from our regular on-campus courses, captured on video and offered online in a format taught over a 14-week period.
